All of our courses and practical and results oriented. Our objective is to have an immediate impact on the attendees ability to optimize process control performance. The lecture material is balanced between control concepts and real world pulp and paper examples. Approximate 40% of the class time is devoted to simulation labs where the concepts presented in the lectures are applied.
The courses are conducted remotely and on-site.
This 4 day course is designed to improve the ability of the process control specialist to optimize process performance. The emphasis on measuring and managing variability, process modeling, the Lambda tuning method, control strategy design and control loop troubleshooting techniques.
This 4 day course is designed to upgrade the ability of E&I mechanics and process engineers to improve control loop performance. The topics covered include measuring process dynamics, the Lambda tuning method for 1st order and integrating processes., developing tuning strategies to improve stability in the key process variables, and on troubleshooting techniques
This one-day course strengthens the attendee’s ability to identify and troubleshoot consistency variability and control problems. The topics covered include consistency loop performance targets, consistency control strategy options, stock chest mixing performance, and consistency control troubleshooting procedures.
The one-day course improves the attendees ability to optimize dryer section performance. The topics covered include drying dundamental, regulatory dryer control strategies, tuning methods and strategies for the Dryer loops, sheet break control logic and measuring / improving energy efficiency.
The objective of this 1 day course is to strengthen the operators ability to recognize poor loop performance, identify control valve problems such as backlash and stiction, identify poor control loop tuning, and communicate process control and variability problems to engineers and technicians.·
The objective of this 1 day course is to increase the awareness of variability issues and to review the technical and organizational pathways to improvement. Knowledgeable and assertive management is required to ensure that the action items are implemented and that the economic benefits are quantified.
